Figo! ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Figo! application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

Information You Provide

Name: When you interact with the Service (e.g., RSVP to a plan), we ask for your name.
Phone number: If you choose to verify your account, we collect your phone number for identity verification via SMS one-time passcode (OTP).
Plans and locations: Places, dates, times, and descriptions you provide when creating plans.
Contacts: If you choose to import contacts, we access phone numbers and names from your device's contact list to help you find friends on the Service.

Information Collected Automatically

Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type for responsive layout.
Cookies: We use cookies to maintain your session and identity. See Section 5.
Usage data: Pages visited and features used, in aggregate, to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate and maintain the Service.
To send you a one-time SMS verification code when you verify your phone number. Message frequency: one message per verification attempt. Message and data rates may apply.
To display your name on plans, RSVPs, and social interactions.
To match your contacts with existing users (only if you opt in to contact import).
To send transactional notifications related to plans you create or join (e.g., plan updates, new RSVPs).
To improve the Service based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.

3. SMS Messaging

We use SMS solely for account verification. When you choose to verify your phone number, we send a single SMS containing a one-time verification code. We do not send marketing messages, promotional texts, or recurring SMS campaigns.

Message frequency: One SMS per verification request.
Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out of future SMS messages. Reply HELP for assistance.
Carriers supported: SMS is available to US and Canadian mobile numbers.

Your phone number is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We use Twilio as our SMS delivery provider, and your number is transmitted to Twilio solely for the purpose of delivering the verification code. See Twilio's privacy policy at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

Service providers: Twilio (SMS delivery), Google (Places API for location autocomplete), and Neon (database hosting) process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
Other users: Your name and plans you create are visible to other users according to your privacy settings (public or friends-only).
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and identity. These include a unique user identifier (wwg_uid), your display name (wwg_name), and session tokens for verified accounts. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Plans, RSVPs, and follow relationships are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. Verification codes expire within 5 minutes of issuance.

7. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed verification codes, and secure database hosting. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict processing of your data.
Request portability of your data.
